Dole and Machhermo are two villages located in the Khumbu region and famous for their stunning mountain views and trekking trails. Distance between Dole and Machhermo is approximately 5 kilometers and the trek takes around 3-4 hours, depending on your pace and fitness level.The trail follows a gradual uphill path. You’ll pass through beautiful rhododendron and pine forests, and if you’re lucky, you might spot some wildlife along the way. As you gain altitude, the views of the surrounding mountains, including Cho Oyu and Thamserku, become more and more impressive. Machhermo is a small but charming village that’s worth exploring, with traditional Sherpa houses and a beautiful gompa (Buddhist monastery) that’s perched on a hill overlooking the village.

We will start our trek early in the morning from Gokyo. Cross the first bridge over the river and then head towards the village of Machhermo. This is a small village that offers great views of the surrounding mountains. From Machhermo, the trail climbs up to a ridge before descending towards the village of Luza. This village is surrounded by fields of barley and wheat. From Luza, the trail descends to the river again and then crosses a suspension bridge. The trail then climbs up to the village of Lhabarma, where you can stop for lunch. After lunch, continue on the trail towards the village of Dole. The trail climbs steadily, passing through rhododendron and juniper forests.
The trek back from Dole to Namche Bazaar follows the same trail as the trek from Namche Bazaar to Dole, but in reverse. We wil start early in the morning to avoid the midday sun and to make the most of the daylight. The trail initially descends steeply through the rhododendron forests and crosses several small streams. Trek back from Dole to Namche Bazaar takes about 5-6 hours, depending on your pace and the number of stops you make along the way.
Trekking back from Namche Bazaar to Lukla is about 13 Kilometers.Trek can take anywhere from 5-6 hours depending on your pace and level of fitness.Trail from Namche Bazaar to Lukla is mostly downhill, but there are some sections that go uphill as well. The trail can be rocky and uneven. The trek back to Lukla offers stunning views of the Himalayan Mountains and the Dudh Koshi River.
