Detail Itinerary

Day 01:Pokhara to Deurali (2100m/6,720ft): 30 min drive, 4-5 hours trek

Embark on the Mardi Himal short trek by taking a 30-minute drive to the roadside shacks of Phedi. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the small mountain road during the drive. As we climb the upper stairs, we’ll catch glimpses of the village of Dhampus valley situated on the top of the ridge, more than 500m above sea level.

The area is inhabited by Brahmins, Chhetris, and a few Gurungs. On the way back down, we will cross the dust road and meet the mountain bike riders. We will pass by stone staircases that make the trail more adventurous. Enjoy spectacular views of the Annapurna and Manaslu Himalayan range from your overnight stay at Deurali in a local guest house.

Day 02:Deurali trekking to forest camp (2,520m/8064ft): 6 hours.

Indulge in your first mountain breaks while taking in the beautiful mountain views. Today, we will trek for about 6 hours. The first part of the trek will take us through an enchanted forest of birch, giant rhododendron, mountain oak, maple, hemlock, and daphnia. After a long and challenging but adventurous trail, we will stay overnight in the forest at a local guest house, where we can enjoy some well-deserved relaxation.

Meals, including Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, are included.

Day 03:Forest Camp to Low camp (2970m/9504ft) 5-6 hrs walking

After having our breakfast in the mountains as usual, today’s destination is Low Camp, which sits at a height of 3,150m. Along the way, we will enjoy the beautiful view of rhododendron trees, with the main attraction being the breathtaking view of Nepal’s Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) mountain.

As the Mardi Himal trek continues, we will enter the “cloud forest,” with mosses, lichen, tree ferns, and orchids hosted by hardy trees. From our room’s window, we will be able to witness the thrilling panorama of the sacred Mt. Machhapuchhare, Mardi Himal, and Annapurna chains up close. Though there are only a few hotels and lodges in Low Camp, they provide excellent facilities such as Wi-Fi and hot showers. We will stay overnight at a local guest house in Low Camp.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Day 04:Low camp to high camp (3540m/11,328ft): 3-4 hours.

We will start early in the morning and prepare to reach the highest point of the trek. If the weather permits, we will climb up to 15,000/16,000 ft and enjoy the stunning snowy view of the Annapurna sanctuary walls below us.

We can also visit the Mardi Himal Viewpoint to witness the sunrise over the mountain range. On the trail, we may encounter yaks, sheep, and goats grazing in the land below. After taking in the breathtaking views, we will trek down to High Camp and spend the night at a local guest house. The Himalayan vista from this point is astonishing, offering stunning views of Mardi Himal (5587m), Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna South (7219m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Baraha Shikhar, and other mountains such as Tent Peak (5695m), Singhachuli (6501m), and Machapuchhre (6993m).

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Day 05:High camp to Siding Village (1700m/5440ft): 6-7 hours

Today on our Mardi Himal short trekking, we will mostly descend downhill. We will trek down through the shade of the forest and onto the terraced fields, covering a descent of 1600m. We will follow the banks of the Mardi Khola through the hillside village of Siding. Along the way, we will pass by lovely fields, simple farms, and cross over new suspension bridges. The scenery is truly idyllic and represents the beautiful countryside of Nepal. We will stay overnight at a local tea house.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Day 06:Siding Trekking to Lumre and from Lumre drive to Pokhara

Enjoy your last breakfast at the mountain lodge with a view of the valleys below. We will pass through small villages inhabited by Brahmins as we make our way towards Ghalel, a mixed Brahmin and Gurung village. After Kalimati, we will trek until Lumre, where we will drive back to Pokhara by jeep. This marks the end of our Mardi Himal trek. Overnight at hotel.

Meals included: Breakfast and lunch.
